UK droughts could be a normal event in the future

It is feared that droughts in southern and eastern areas of the UK could become a normal feature of the climate in the future, according to the Caroline Spelman, the country’s Environment Secretary. As the UK climate becomes ever more extreme, with everything from record heat, record drought, record rainfall and even record cold in the last ten years alone, long term climate change is bringing with it grave consequences for Britain’s environment.
